In a society that is growing increasingly egoistic, it takes a truly amazing individual with an incredible message to make people take time from their busy, self absorbed lives and pay attention to the spiritual side of existence which we all possess, but many ignore. Neale Donald Walsch is one such individual, and Conversations With God is his life-changing story. Adapted from the best-selling novel of the same title, the film follows Neale as he falls, hits rock bottom and picks himself up to international stardom and acclaim, with the help of his own inner strength and the love of God.
Neale works an ordinary job, in an ordinary American town. He repeats his day-to-day activities with as much enthusiasm as such tasks warrant. On one particular day, Neale has a terrible car accident in which he breaks his neck. Having let his insurance policy expire, he loses his apartment as a result. Burdened with a neck brace and homelessness, Neale adjusts to a new way of life, on the streets with fellow homeless individuals. Angry at the world and a seemingly careless God, Neale writes a letter to his Lord, asking a series of 'who's, what's and why's?' Much to Neale's surprise, God answers, and their ensuing conversations are the basis for Walsch's novel, which sat on the NY Times best-sellers list for years and inspired millions to take charge of their lives again.
With similar undertones to films such as What The Bleep Do We Know?, which question our place on this earth, but with less preachy, more narrative driven elements, Conversations With God is a film that will open anyone's eyes, and hearts, to the power and possibility of faith.
